Jay Clarke

Jay founded Magazines.com in 1999 and continues to serve as President and CEO.  Magazines.com is the oldest, the largest and most dependable magazine subscription service on the Internet.  The company's investors include Time Inc.  With more than 2,000 titles available, Magazines.com offers people a fun, easy way to discover new magazines and track subscriptions.  In 2009 and 2010, Inc. magazine named Magazines.com one of the 5,000 fastest growing private companies in the U.S. Magazines.com is based in Franklin, Tenn., a suburb of Nashville.

From 1996 to 1998, Jay served as the Chief Financial Officer for Monorail Computer Corporation, a personal computer manufacturer.  As Monorail’s chief financial officer, Jay led an effort that yielded $40 million in startup capital, and in 1996, Monorail introduced the U.S.'s first sub-$1,000 computer for consumers through CompUSA.

From 1984 to 1996, he was with SunTrust Bank, Atlanta.  Jay joined the bank's management training program and held several positions with the company.  His last role was Senior Vice President and Division Manager in the corporate banking group.

Jay graduated from Georgia Tech in 1984 with a degree in Industrial Management.

Jay is actively involved in several business organizations including Young Presidents' Organization and the Better Business Bureau of Middle Tennessee, where he belongs to the board of directors.
